Chiropractors Act 1994
Jen Pogacic graduated from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic (University of Wales) in 2004, having obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Animal Manipulation. She is fully qualified and insured to practice McTimoney Animal Manipulation. In addition to this, Jen is a member of the McTimoney Animal Association which regulates and supports the use of the McTimoney treatment.
Jen Pogacic is not qualified to treat humans and is not, therefore, a chiropractor and is not registered with the General Chiropractic Council. In compliance with Section 32 of the Chiropractors Act 1994, Jen Pogacic does not describe herself as a chiropractor, chiropractic practitioner, chiropractitioner, chiropractic physician, or any other kind of chiropractor.
Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966
Under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, it is illegal for any person to treat an animal unless they are a veterinary surgeon or a ‘paraprofessional’, covered by the Veterinary Surgery (Exemptions) Order 1962. Jen Pogacic is classed as a ‘paraprofessional’ and is therefore able to treat animals with the prior consent of the animals’ Veterinary Surgeon. Consequently, Jen requires veterinary permission before commencing any treatment. This is not only a necessity to comply with the law, but for the wellbeing of the animals Jen takes into her care. Consulting your animals’ Veterinary Surgeon helps to ensure that there are not underlying problems or potential contraindications for the McTimoney treatment. Jen does not diagnose conditions and will refer any problems found during consultations to the animals’ Veterinary Surgeon.
